Be Excellent To Each Other With This Bill & Ted Face The Music Teaser

3 min read

Friends, the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Bill & Ted Face the Music dropped a little earlier today – giving us a glimpse of what to expect when the film is released to theaters on August 21st – assuming of course that will be a possibility. After watching it I feel it is safe to say it is most excellent to see Alex Winters and Keanu Reeves together on screen again after 29 years since Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey – even if the assumed rosy future of Wyld Stallyns and the World appears to now be in jeopardy. And I ask you, what better time for the teaser trailer to Bill & Ted Face the Music to drop than on Bill & Ted Day?

Before I go into some of the details of Bill & Ted Face the Music, I felt I should point out that Bill & Ted Day is the fan chosen holiday to celebrate the Bill & Ted franchise. The date of June 9th was singled out because of the scene from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure – where Bill S. Preston Esquire (Winters) and Ted Theodore Logan (Reeves) meet their future selves outside the local Circle K. To prove they really are the future versions of Bill and Ted – the duo are asked what number that the versions of Bill and Ted in the present are thinking of.

Bill & Ted Face the Music finds Wild Stallyns still rocking out in an attempt to create the song they were told would help unite the entire World in solidarity and peace. As you saw from the trailer itself it would appear that the band is experiencing diminishing returns – no matter how excellent they are to each other and their fans. I was able to get a few more details about the film from an Entertainment Weekly article – that message from The Great Leader (Holland Taylor) is more ominous than the teaser trailer has let on – Bill and Ted have a mere 80 minutes to stop reality from being torn asunder.

So it would appear that Bill and Ted are going to have to travel through time once again in an attempt to stop the darkest timeline from taking place. Thankfully for our duo it looks like they have some help this time from their Daughters – Thea Preston who is played by Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) and Billie Logan who is portrayed by Brigette Lundy-Paine (Atypical). Of course it would seem that Bill and Ted cross paths with none other than the esteemed Death (William Sadler) once again – and I’m truly hoping that they manage to somehow digitally insert the late and great George Carlin as the most excellent Rufus.

So why not celebrate Bill & Ted Day by watching the Bill & Ted Face the Music trailer a couple of times and then the first two films this evening?
