Indiana Jones And The Curse Of Hellraiser Is A Mash-Up That Actually Works!

2 min read

Friends, during the many adventures all over the World – Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr. managed to experience brushes with the supernatural and otherwordly. Encountering the Shankara stones in 1935 – a mere year later and he laid eyes on the Ark of the Covenant, with two years passing before our favorite archaeologist/grave robber was able to briefly hold the Holy Grail. Let us not forget that nineteen years after that – Indy is witness to the existence of extraterrestrial life deep in the jungles of the Amazon. Having said all of that however, thanks to Indiana Jones and the Curse of Hellraiser, an excellent mash-up of the Indiana Jones films and the Hellraiser series… I think Indy would be hard pressed to safely thwart the efforts of the Lament Configuration – Lemarchand’s Box in this case – and the arrival of the Cenobites once the box had been opened.

This mash-up trailer that thrusts the cinematic universes of both Hellraiser and Indiana Jones together is courtesy of the Deformed Lunchbox YouTube channel. This isn’t the first mash-up either as just a few weeks back they released a trailer for two unlikely icons crossing paths – the Dark Knight of Gotham City and Jason Voorhees of Camp Crystal Lake. In addition they host a number of short films… that while exceptional… might be too intense to share on this site. In truth there might be some imagery in Indiana Jones and the Curse of Hellraiser that younger children should avoid – overall however I don’t believe you’ll see anything worse than you would if you were catching an episode of The Walking Dead.

So what do you think, could Dr. Jones find a way to send the Cenobites back to their dimension? Or would Indy be another victim unable to resist the deadly temptation of one of the Lament Configurations? In my heart I believe I am an optimistic soul – pragmatic perhaps – but I think that in some way Indiana Jones would be able to save the day… although perhaps not reversing the destruction caused by the release of the Cenobites.

Before I wrap up this article, I want to thank John Squires of Bloody Disgusting for the heads up on Indiana Jones and the Curse of Hellraiser!
