Generations Is A Moving Ghostbusters Fan Film

2 min read

Friends, the other day when I was finishing up work I noticed a post by John Squires over at Bloody Disgusting, it was concerning a Ghostbusters fan film by Christopher J. Tomlinson and Devin DeFluiter. Squires in his article headline straight up said about the fan film “…the most touching love letter to ‘Ghostbusters’ you may ever see’ – and he isn’t wrong in the least. Generations is quite simply about the love of a Father and his Son and their shared connection to the Ghostbusters franchise – I think that is all the set up that you need so I’m going to just share the short film now -but I do want to add that you need to keep your eyes open for more than a few other vintage pop culture properties in the video.

Is someone cutting some onions in here or is it just me? Generations was Directed by both Tomlinson and DeFluiter – from a script by Tomlinson – and that is in fact the Writer and Co-Director’s own Son and Wife in the short film. It appears that Tomlinson is also the Director of Ghostbusters: Station 6 – what began as a short film three years ago turned into a TV pilot – with the main focus being on what Oscar Barrett from Ghostbusters 2 did when he grew up… which is obviously what you think – he become a Ghostbuster.

Speaking of Ghostbusters though – it turns out that we only have to wait until tomorrow to catch an online reunion with the likes of Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, as well as Ivan and Jason Reitman – courtesy of Josh Gad’s Reunited Apart.

I will admit that earlier this year I was a little bummed to hear that Ghostbusters: Afterlife was pushed all the way to March of 2021 – but I think both Generations and the Ghostbusters: Station 6 pilot and of course the latest Reunited Apart will make that wait a little more bearable.
